Consensus
The Slider's slide-out keyboard makes it a unique tablet in a world full of iPad imitators. However, the bulk added by the keyboard makes the Slider take a back seat to the majority of other tablets, including its big brother the Transformer.

Aside from its size and dimensions, the Slider is a lovely machine. The screen is stunning, the USB socket makes it very useful as a serious work machine, and the keyboard is usable, apart from for the very lengthiest of writing assignments....Go To Full Review

The Asus Eee Pad Slider is a good performer that is practicial and laden with solid multi-media specs. We not quite sure who would go and can buy one, but we do know they won't be disappointed....Go To Full Review

If you like the Android platform, don't mind a slight paucity of apps designed for the large display, and plan to do a lot of typing, then it's a great choice....Go To Full Review

The Asus Eee Pad Slider's keyboard sets it apart from the handful of Android Honeycomb tablets that can only clearly be separated by a few minor aesthetic differences and connectivity tweaks. It's one of the most interesting Android tablets of the year and it's not just a design gimmick. The added size and weight of the keyboard will severely limit the audience for this device, unlike the more versatile Eee Pad Transformer. But if this kind of home-bound tablet is what you're after, the great screen, smooth performance and good execution of the unusual design makes it worth a round of applause. However, we can't help but wish it had arrived a few months earlier, now the Transformer Prime is nearing release....Go To Full Review

The slide-out keyboard is the Android-based Eee Pad Slider SL101's key feature, and it's probably the make-or-break feature if you're considering a purchase. We'd choose the Slider's Transformer stablemate, but it's nice to have the choice...Go To Full Review

If you need a regular tablet, the Apple iPad 2 remains the better product. However, if you need a keyboard on a regular basis, the Eee Pad Transformer and its keyboard dock is better and cheaper than the Eee Pad Slider....Go To Full Review

ASUS deserves some credit for trying something new in a market filled with "me too" devices, but the end result is well short of the mark. The Eee Pad Slider may have a built-in keyboard but the trade-offs come in the form of an awkward size and heavy weight. If you really want an Android tablet with a keyboard, give the Eee Pad Slider a miss and take a look at the ASUS Eee Pad Transformer instead....Go To Full Review
