Consensus
The Razr-inspired Xoom 2 comes with many improvements over its predecessor. However, quad-core tablets like the Asus Prime already heading to store shelves make it very difficult to recommend the Xoom 2 over both current and future generation tablets.

The best Android tablet to date, well-built with a great screen, but it's not a ground-breaking product...Go To Full Review

We like the design and the feel of the Motorola Xoom 2 and it's a tablet we've enjoyed using. The weight makes a noticeable difference over the previous Xoom, as it's competitively light. But Ice Cream Sandwich and quad-core processors may steal the headlines for Android tablets and the Xoom 2 misses out on both....Go To Full Review

Despite our issues with charging, we can't help but have a soft spot for the Xoom 2. It's like the Milestone/Droid of the tablet world, as it's not going to win any beauty contests but it's functional and ruggedised....Go To Full Review

With its infrared port, its splash protection, and its unique feature that allows you to have an undetected thumb on the screen, the Xoom 2 is definitely one of the leading models on sale....Go To Full Review

The second Motorola Xoom 2 is much thinner and lighter than the original. The screen is better and the processor more powerful. However, there's an element of treading water to the design as it doesn't improve upon more recent rivals much....Go To Full Review

It doesn't quite match the best Android tablets or the iPad for quality, and many good Android tablets have it beaten for price. The Xoom 2 is an improvement over the original Xoom, but not over the competition....Go To Full Review

The Motorola Xoom 2 is a slimmed-down, lighter version of the first Xoom, but it's not running Ice Cream Sandwich, the newest version of Android, so it's hard to see what this tablet offers over rivals....Go To Full Review

Android 4.0 may rejuvenate this tablet in a spectacular fashion, but until it does, the Xoom 2 is not an advisable purchase. If you must have a 10-inch Android tablet today, the Eee Pad Transformer Prime would be our top choice, followed closely by the Galaxy Tab 10.1....Go To Full Review

The Xoom 2 is a valiant effort from Motorola, but is not the major step up from the original that we were expecting. We enjoyed using the MotoCast software and retaining the Adobe Flash experience, but the slow charging time and jerky internet experience let it down. We would recommend waiting until it's upgraded to Android 4.0....Go To Full Review

More of a spruce than the dramatic overhaul needed to bring the Xoom in line with the market leader, the Motorola Xoom 2 is a strong performer across most areas but in no way sets the world, or user experience, on fire....Go To Full Review
